Privacy Policy

The short version: VAS CERT stores your study progress on your device and your personal iCloud. We do not collect, sell, or share your data. There are no ads, no analytics trackers, and no Summit Systems servers involved in the app.

1. Who We Are

VAS CERT is an iOS app made by Summit Systems, LLC ("Summit Systems," "we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at support@summitsystems.app.

2. What Data VAS CERT Handles

VAS CERT stores the following data locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework:

Your study progress — question history, review intervals, confidence ratings, and streak data
Your exam date and daily study target (if you set them)
Notification preferences and scheduled reminder times
App settings and preferences

This data never leaves your device and iCloud except as described in Section 4.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

VAS CERT does not collect, transmit to us, or store on any Summit Systems server:

Your name, email address, or any account information
Health, medical, or clinical data
Location data
Usage analytics or behavioral telemetry
Crash reports or diagnostic data (we have no crash reporting SDK)
Any data for advertising purposes

4. Third-Party Services

Apple iCloud / CloudKit. If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your study data syncs across your Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit framework. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). Summit Systems does not have access to your iCloud data.

Apple Notifications. If you enable study reminders, VAS CERT schedules local notifications through Apple's notification framework. Notification scheduling is done entirely on-device — no data is sent to Summit Systems or any third party.

Apple App Store. The App Store handles app distribution and, if applicable, any in-app purchases. App Store transactions are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Summit Systems does not receive your payment information.

VAS CERT contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics frameworks, and no social login integrations.

5. Notifications

VAS CERT may request permission to send you local notifications for daily study reminders and streak warnings. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any network request to Summit Systems. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.

6. Children's Privacy

VAS CERT is intended for healthcare professionals and adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All of your study data is stored locally on your device. To delete your data, uninstall the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can also delete the app's data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage on your device. Summit Systems does not retain any copy of your data on our servers.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of VAS CERT after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
